What "Getting Back Again" Means to a Ballston Lake Chiropractor

Most people don't call a chiropractor because they're curious about their spine. They call because something hurts, and that pain is getting in the way of work, sleep, a hobby, or just getting through a normal Tuesday.

The story behind the name

Back Again Chiropractic was founded in late 2025 around a single idea: care should be measured by what it gives back to you. Not just a quieter symptom, but a return to the work, the routines, and the activities that were part of your life before something started limiting you.

That's the "back again" we mean. Getting back to lifting a grandchild without bracing first. Getting back on a trail. Getting back through a full shift without watching the clock.

A background in both massage and chiropractic

Dr. Katja Reid has spent twenty years focused on personalized patient care. She worked for years as a massage therapist in clinical and therapeutic offices before enrolling at the University of Western States in Portland, Oregon, where she graduated as a chiropractor in 2018. Her additional training includes the Webster Protocol for prenatal care and Upledger craniosacral therapy.

That combination shapes how we look at a problem. Muscle, ligament, bone, and joint all influence one another, so we look at how they interact to find the root of your discomfort rather than chasing whichever spot hurts loudest.

Why no two care plans look the same

Personalized chiropractic care isn't a tagline here. Depending on your history and your goals, a plan might include chiropractic adjustments, soft tissue therapy such as trigger point release or massage, stretching and exercise support, or electrical stimulation.

For adjustments, we primarily use the Diversified method, which means we study a range of techniques and choose the ones we think will work best for you. Some patients do well with manual adjustments. Others are more comfortable with instrument assistance.

What a first visit actually looks like

Your first appointment starts with a thorough history intake and a physical exam, including neurological and orthopedic testing. These are the same tests physical therapists and orthopedists use, and they're designed to rule conditions in and out so we understand what's affecting you personally.

Only after that do we talk through what care makes sense. You don't need to arrive knowing which treatment to ask for.

The goal is to need us a little less

A good portion of every visit is teaching. We'll often walk through a stretch you can use at home, a way to change position during a long day at a desk, or a safer approach to lifting something awkward.

Mobility and posture behave more like an ongoing practice than a one-time correction, which is why what you do between appointments matters as much as the appointment itself.

When someone else is the better fit

Sometimes chiropractic care isn't the answer, or isn't the whole answer. We're glad to work alongside physical therapists, massage therapists, and acupuncturists, and we'll say so plainly when a referral serves you better than another visit with us.

That standard is part of why we pursued Better Business Bureau accreditation. It isn't something a health care provider is required to have, and it mattered to us anyway.

If something has been limiting how you move, we'd like to hear about it. Call our Ballston Lake office at (518) 576-0770, email info@backagainchiro.com, or send a message through our contact form, and we'll talk through whether personalized chiropractic care is a fit for you.
